Verizon Connect

Verizon Connect already has the ping. The card has the gallon.

Updated 2026-10-07

I do not replace Verizon Connect. I read it, next to the fuel card and the TMS, so a swipe can be checked against a location you already pay for.

What I need from the platform

Vehicle identifier, timestamped location, and any fuel or engine fields you already store. Verizon Connect's public fleet products cover GPS tracking and reporting. I use that history. I do not install a competing ELD.

If pings are sparse, more fills stay unverifiable. I will say so. I will not paper over a quiet device with a guessed location.

Mixed stacks after a purchase

It is common to see Verizon Connect on the older trucks and Samsara or Geotab on the newer ones. I match each device to its tractor. Pretending the fleet is one brand is how a report quietly drops units.

Checklist

  • Can you grant a read-only user and revoke it?
  • Do vehicle names match the card and the TMS?
  • How often do devices report?
  • Who already looks at Verizon Connect exceptions, if anyone?
