IFTA

IFTA is easier after the gallons are real.

A fuel tax return built on mistyped units and missing tanks is a confident error. The match is the prep. The filing stays with you or your tax firm.

I am not your IFTA filer

I will not prepare or submit the return. I will make the fuel file less fictional: which gallons belong to which tractor, and which gallons should not be treated as settled.

Jurisdiction miles live in the GPS and the TMS you already have. Once fuel is labeled, those miles have a gallon figure that is not just the card total.

What has to stay out of the return basis

Unverifiable fills. Mixups that have not been moved to the right unit. Card gallons that never entered a fleet tank, if you would otherwise count them as burned in a state.

I will say which rows are safe to hand a tax preparer and which rows are not. That sentence is the deliverable, not a completed schedule.

What I look for

A preparer can use

01

Settled gallons

Verified to a truck.

02

Open gallons

Listed, so they are not silently included.

03

The basis

Card gallons and burned gallons kept apart.

Short answers

Before you book.

Next step

Let's make the gallon file less fictional.

Tell me who files today and how painful the fuel pull is. That is enough for a 15-minute call.

15 minutes. Your trucks, your systems, and whether an audit is worth it. I reply within one business day. Privacy.
